Leon Doyle Obituary, Death – Castlepollard Community Mourns Young Man Killed in Collision

Leon was remembered by former classmates and members of the community as a kind, funny and warm young man whose friendly nature left a lasting impression on those who knew him. Tributes described him as someone who was always willing to help and whose smile and personality would not be forgotten.

Leon was predeceased by his grandparents Petria and Finbarr Coyle, Danny Doyle, and his uncle Donal Doyle.

He is survived and deeply mourned by his parents Helen, Ronald and Catherine; grandmother Olive Doyle; siblings Ava, Jamie, William, Alex and Emma; his soulmate Jada; first cousins including Kaia and Hannah; as well as his aunts, uncles, wider relatives and many friends.

The Westmeath community has continued to share memories of Leon following his sudden death. Those who knew him recalled his carefree nature, sense of humour and willingness to help others.

Funeral Arrangements

Leon is reposing at his home, Benison Lodge, Milltown, Castlepollard, where relatives, friends and members of the community can pay their respects until 7 p.m. on Friday, September 25.

He will then be brought to St Michael’s Church of Ireland, The Square, Castlepollard, on Saturday, September 26. His funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m., followed by a cremation ceremony at Lakelands Funeral Home and Crematorium in Cavan. The family has requested family flowers only.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision. The incident involved a lorry and a car at approximately 12:30 p.m., with Leon understood to have been the sole occupant of the car. The driver of the lorry received medical attention at the scene. Investigators have asked anyone with relevant information or dashcam footage from the N52 between Fordstown and Clonmellon around the time of the collision to come forward.

Leon Doyle’s sudden death has left a profound absence among his family, soulmate, friends and the wider community. He will be remembered for the relationships he built, the laughter he shared and the warmth that those closest to him will carry with them.
